Marion Carson School Fun Run/Walk – Tomorrow Morning!
The Marion Carson 5km Fun Run/Walk is tomorrow morning, Saturday, April 26, 2025.

Event Details:
9:30am: Participants pick-up race bibs at the registration/sign up table (courtyard)
10:00am: The pre-program/warm-up starts.
10:30am: The fun run/walk begins.
1:00pm: Post-race activities/food trucks close
*Registration is open until April 25th! The event will happen rain or shine.
For those who have signed up for the run…
- An email has been sent to you, containing essential documentation and information that must be reviewed and signed prior to attending the event at the school on Saturday!
- Volunteers: The Volunteer package email explains your specific duties and responsibilities. On Saturday, volunteers are expected to arrive early and report to the Volunteer Check In table to collect their vests.
- Runners: please proceed to the check-in table to receive your bibs and lost child bracelets, then proceed to the staging area.
- We are expecting around 500 people on the school grounds - please try to walk or bike to the school that day! Please prep your children about the size of the crowd.
- The pre-race program commences at 10am addressing crucial safety items, procedures, and featuring special guests. Please arrive promptly to avoid missing the program.
- Additionally, please note that dogs, bikes, and scooters are not permitted on the run route.
- The parking lot is reserved for CBE dignitaries, staff, volunteers and special guests.
- We look forward to seeing you all on Saturday!
- The event runs from 9:30am to 1pm.
Virtual Parent Education Night
Marion Carson invites parents (and adult family members) to a virtual Parent Education Night on Growth Mindset with Michelle Blais.

Grade 3 Mandarin Bilingual and Community English Learning Celebration
The Grade 3 students at Marion Carson School will be hosting a Learning Celebration on Friday, May 2, 2025 starting at 10:10am. The celebration will share some of the students’ current learning focusing on the Mind domain - To Know. We would like to invite parents of performing students from our Grade 3 classes to attend if able. Please note that due to fire safety code we have to limit our parent viewing to the first 150 parents. Doors will open at 10:05am. If waiting outside, we ask that you please line up along the Main West Door sidewalk leading out towards Varsity Drive.
Class Requests for 2025-26 School Year
As we approach the final months of the school year, we begin our planning process in creating our class lists for the 2025-26 school year. Current year classroom teachers create class lists in consultation with admin and teacher specialists. Through this process, we take into account various factors such as students are placed in a classroom believed to support a most successful learning experience for each child as a whole throughout the upcoming school year. Should you have a specific peer request or additional information to support class placement specific to your child’s education, we invite you at this time to email our school at MarionCarson@cbe.ab.ca.
Please note that requests will only be considered if of an educational nature and which include a detailed reasoning to support the request. Although all requests are considered, they are not guaranteed as we must balance the various organizational needs of the school based on space and resources. Requests and additional information for consideration must be submitted before Friday, May 9, 2025.

A reminder to families interested in ordering a 2024-25 yearbook, the final deadline to order is May 23, 2025. Place your order at www.ybpay.ca. Please note that Lifetouch is not able to accommodate any orders past this hard deadline. Use Yearbook ID Code: 15269225 to place your order.

May 22: Spirit Day - Cultural Celebration Day (wear clothing that represents your family’s culture, bring your favourite food from your culture for your lunch, or share a tradition with your class (please talk to your teacher about our specific guidelines if planning on sending any food for sharing as any food items not within the guidelines, will be returned home)
May 22: Spring Fling Dance (details to be confirmed)
