Hello / Nǐ hǎo Marion Carson School Families,
The colder weather has come to greet us. Reminder that students continue to go outside up to -20 degrees Celsius, during movement and nutrition breaks. Many classrooms also go outside for daily outdoor learning activities. Reminder that students need to come to school dressed for the weather each day, so that they can have a most enjoyable day of learning.
With flu season upon us, we would like to remind all families to ensure that they have a back up plan in case their child is ill, or becomes sick while at school. Please do not send sick children to school. Children who are sick should remain home to rest and recover, until healthy and ready to return to learning. Children sent to school under the weather, or who become ill will have their family contacted for pick-up. We appreciate your support in working together as a community to keep our building and families as healthy as possible.

1. SoundKreations Dance Residency – Student Performance
The SoundKreations Dance Residency is in full swing, and students are working hard learning their dance moves and connected routine. The students’ dance performance is on Friday, December 12, 2025 according to the times below. Parents are invited to join if able. Limited seating will be available as students will have the opportunity to come together to watch each other’s performances.
Performance #1:
- Starts at 10am
- Grade 1, 2, 5, and 6 students
Performance #2:
- Starts at 12pm
- MB Tu/Th Kindergarten, Grade 3 and 4 students
2. Winter Festival Week – December 15 - 19, 2025
From December 15 to 19, 2025 we will have our Winter Festival Week with daily spirit days, whole school activities, and donation drives. Specific details will be shared in our December 12 Principal’s Message, but we wanted to give a sneak peek as to what is to come…

As discussed at the last School Council meeting, each year every school in the Calgary Board of Education posts three documents that support student growth, whole-school progress and fee accountability. These 3 documents are now posted on our school website. I have linked them here directly for your information
