·       Pink Shirt Day – Wednesday, February 26, 2025

·       Grade 1/2 Community English Learning Celebration

*A reminder that there is no school for students on Friday, February 28, 2025 as it is a non-instructional day.

We kindly ask that all families keep student safety the utmost priority during school drop off and dismissal by following all the laws of the road. A reminder that a school is never a place for U-turns, or for jaywalking (crossing the street in the spot other than a crosswalk). We also ask that parents continue to use the Hug and Go as a quick place to drop off and pick-up their children. By pulling fully into a spot, it ensures that the flow of traffic can continue along Varsity Drive. Once your child is out of the car for drop-off, or back in for pick-up, parents are asked to then continue on their way to free up a spot for other families. Thank you very much for your cooperation and for supporting safety for all.

Pink Shirt Day – February 26, 2025

February 26th 2025 is Pink Shirt Day. Bullying and cyberbullying jeopardize learning and can severely impact a child's mental, emotional, and physical health. Pink Shirt Day is celebrated annually on the last Wednesday in February and is focused on how staff and students can create a more kind, inclusive world by supporting anti-bullying initiatives. We encourage students to show support for Pink Shirt Day by wearing a pink shirt or pink coloured clothing item on February 26th.

Grade 1/2 Community English Learning Celebration – Feb 26, 2025

The Grade 1/2 students in the Community English program will be hosting all students in their Learning Celebration on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025 from 10:10am – 10:45am. The celebration will share some of their current learning from the classroom as well as focus on celebrating Pink Shirt Day. Students will showcase their recent exploration of sensory and descriptive writing, as well as their investigation of the Arctic. They have also been working on performing some songs that highlight kindness and belonging. We would like to invite parents of performing students from our Grade 1/2 Community English classes to attend if able. Please note that due to fire safety code we have to limit our parent viewing to the first 150 parents. Doors will open at 10:05am. If waiting outside, we ask that you please line up along the Main West Door sidewalk leading out towards Varsity Drive.
