Hello / Nǐ hǎo Marion Carson School Families,
I would like to thank all families who volunteered to organize last night’s Snow Glow Dance and the Bottle Drive over the past two days. It takes a team to make these events possible for the benefit of our school community, and we appreciate you spending the time on behalf of our school, students, and families. We hope everyone had a wonderful time at the dance and would also like to thank everyone who donated recyclables both last night and this morning.
Our next big event is this upcoming Friday as we celebrate the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Horse. Be sure to closely review the Lunar New Year Performance details specific to your child’s class found below, throughout this month’s Principals’ messages, and on your child’s Google Classroom. We look forward to being able to share the learning from the residency this week as we celebrate Canadian and Chinese culture and traditions through the lens of Connections Through Past Inventions.

*Correction: Please note the Kindergarten Community English class was listed as not performing in the 10am show in the Jan. 9th Principal’s Message. Please note that they will be performing in both the 10am and 4pm shows and should be in attendance at school this day.

Dogs on School Property
This is a reminder that CBE Administrative Regulation AR6004 - Animals in Schools restricts animals on school property. Dogs are not permitted on school grounds except where expressly approved under AR6004 (e.g., service animals or authorized educational purposes). Additionally, the City of Calgary Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw prohibits dogs on school property, including playgrounds and fields.
We kindly ask pet owners to be respectful of our families and students by keeping their pets well clear of school property, including clear of any sidewalk entrances/exits. Thank you for your cooperation.
