A few items of note…
Staffing Updates:
At this time of year, we work on staffing our school for the upcoming school year. We would like to share the following staffing updates:
- We would like to congratulate Ms. Freestone and Ms. Eastly who have both announced their retirement, effective the end of this school year. We want to wish them both a happy retirement and all the best as they start this new chapter in their lives.
- We would like to congratulate Mr. Shuai Wang who has successfully completed his probationary role as a teacher this year and has been successful in earning a permanent role in the Calgary Board of Education, right here at Marion Carson School to start the 2025-26 school year.
- Congratulations to Ms. Amy Spray who is currently in a temporary position in Grade 3 at Marion Cason School this year, and has been hired as the Grade 4 Mandarin Bilingual English teacher, starting in the 2025-26 school year.
- Congratulations to Miss Karleigh Baldwin who is currently in a temporary position in Grade 5 at Marion Cason School this year, and has been hired into the Grade 3 Mandarin Bilingual English teacher, starting in the 2025-26 school year.
Lost & Found
Lost & Found items have been put on display in the main hallway in front of the office. Classrooms have been making their way to these tables as a class looking to match lost items to their owners. Please see attached pictures of the tables to see if any items belong to your family. All items will be donated as of June 27 at 12pm noon.
Library Exchange
- All books are now due to be returned to the library. Notices of overdue books will be sent out shortly by Ms. Parshina. If you received a message that you have an outstanding book and believe this is in error, please email the school before the end of the day Friday, June 20, 2025.
Sports Day
Next Friday June 20 is our whole school sport day! This is going to be an engaging day for students as we move closer to the end of our school year. As we will be outside all morning, we strongly encourage hats, water bottles, sunglasses, and sunscreen (to be applied at home).
As it is sports day we also require proper footwear for running (e.g. no sandals, crocs, boots, flats, or cleats).
Students are also encouraged to wear any sports attire representing their favourite teams or teams they are a part of (e.g. basketball, football or soccer jerseys, etc.).
There is a special snack station with freezies and fruit for students to have as a treat (likely oranges). Thank you to the School Council for providing this treat. If these snacks are something you do not want your child to have, please let their homeroom teacher know.
