A Message from School Council and Parent Association

A reminder that our last day of school is this Thursday, June 26th. It is an early dismissal day, meaning that students end their school day at 1:15pm. For those who take the bus, the bus will run their typical early dismissal day schedule. Please consider sending your child to school with an extra reusable bag on the last day of school so that they can easily take home all of their supplies and treasures.

A few items of note…

I would like to thank all student leaders and the sports day committee for organizing a great spirit/sports day full of engaging activities. Your resilience, flexibility, and leadership to create this day of belonging and connectedness, especially when we had to shift to an indoor sports day due to the weather was an amazing demonstration of what Marion Carson students and staff represent.

I would like to share a few more thank you messages as the 2024-25 school year comes to an end. I would like to start by thanking the School Council and Parent Association for all of their support in organizing and leading various school events. I would also like to say thank you to all volunteers, whether through council organized events, or school volunteers in the classroom, for whole school events, or who attended field trips. None of these events would be possible without your wonderful support.

I would also like to thank the teacher and support staff within the school for their dedication to Marion Carson School students and families and a big thank you to you as parents for working as partners alongside school staff in your child’s learning. Working as a team is how we are best able to support them in reaching their greatest success.

Finally, I would like to thank all students for their willingness to take risks in their learning, to be leaders in their classrooms and school, and for supporting a community of belonging and connectedness that helps each student at Marion Carson School reach their greatest potential. Thank you for as a whole group, creating a great 2024-25 school year.

To those graduating from our school, we wish you all the best in your next adventure. To those returning, we look forward to our next journey in learning as we move into the 2025-26 school year.

Staffing Updates:

We are happy to announce that we have hired our new kindergarten teacher starting next year. Please join me in welcoming Ms. Jasmeen Gill as our Community English Kindergarten Teacher.

Last Call for School Fee Payment

Thank you to all families who have paid their school fees for the year. Please go into your child’s MyCBE Account before the end of the week to ensure that all fees are paid. Thank you for your prompt attention to matter, and for double-checking each of your child(ren)’s accounts.

Lost & Found

A reminder that all items in the lost & found will be donated June 27 at 12pm. Parents are welcome to ring the buzzer at the front west doors when dropping off or picking up their child(ren) if interested in coming and looking through the lost and found items. Students will also continue to have the opportunity throughout the week when walking by with their class.

Yearbooks Sent Home Yesterday

All yearbooks purchased by families have arrived and were sent home with your child(ren) yesterday. Please note that we do not have any extras to sell at the school level for those who missed the deadline.
