Wow! Here we are already on June 26th and students have had their last day of school for the 2024-25 school year. School resumes for those returning to Marion Carson School on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025. Please see our school website and the “Back to School” section for specific details on students’ return to school.
I would like to thank all families for a great school year and wish everyone an enjoyable summer break, spending time together in whichever way brings joy and happiness. Students have shown amazing growth in their learning this year and should be very proud of themselves. Thank you families for your added support in their learning.
I would like to encourage families while out on your adventures to speak to your students about their learning in school and consider ways that you can integrate and enhance their learning through their summer break. Consider questions such as…
- How does their understanding of numeracy come into play when out of the house?
- How is our learning in science present in different ways all around us in the world?
- How can you continue building a joy of reading over the summer and continue to enhance their literacy skills?
- In what ways can we be physically active each day?
- How can daily mindfulness support positive learning, lifestyle, and mental health?
- How does the physical landscape change when we leave our home community?

Report Cards – Live for Viewing
A reminder that the June 2025 report cards are now live for viewing through your MyCBE account. They will be available for online viewing until July 25 at 8am.
Arriving Late for the 2025-26 School Year or Moved Over the Summer?
Our first day back at school for the 2025-26 school year is September 2, 2025. If your child is coming late due to extenuating circumstances and will not be present on the first day of school, please email the school office at MarionCarson@cbe.ab.ca with your child’s full name, the reason for the absence, and the date of return. Please also be sure to let the school know if you have had a change of address and moved out of area over the summer. Reminder that Marion Carson School is at limited capacity, and families out of our designated catchment area for their specific program must transfer to their designated school.
Back to School Information
The back to school information for the 2025-26 school year has been updated on our school website. School resumes September 2, 2025. Please watch for an email from your child’s teacher later in the day on Thursday, August 28, 2025 with details about your child’s first day of school. Please refer to the school website for important information such as school hours, soft entry times, first day of school routines and more. The school office will be closed of over the summer and reopens on August 27, 2025. Should you have any questions, please call the school office at 403 777-6050 during office hours, or email MarionCarson@cbe.ab.ca and we will respond once the office reopens.
