A reminder that there is no school on Friday, April 18 due to Good Friday, as well as no school for students on Monday April 21 as it is a non-instructional day. School resumes Tuesday, April 22, 2025.
With Spring weather becoming more and more beautiful, we are happy to see many families in the community enjoying our outdoor natural spaces, playground and soccer fields. With more people being on these spaces, I wanted to continue to remind parents of the importance of being there to supervise your children before school (if arriving prior to 9am) and after school if choosing to let your children use what Marion Carson’s outdoor spaces have to offer after school dismissal at 3:40pm. The school does not provide supervision outside of these times. If your child walks home, we ask that you speak to them about making their way home directly after school or make arrangements for a parent to be present.

K-4 Swimming: April 22 – May 1
Please ensure that your child is prepared for the dates specific to when your child’s class will be swimming. Thank you to all of the volunteers who supported inline skating that the school and thank you in advance to all of the volunteers that support the school in making this important life skill swimming field trip happen. We appreciate you and all volunteers who support our school very much.
If you are a family in need of financial support for this field trip, please contact the school office at marioncarson@cbe.ab.ca or by phone at 403 777-6050 to discuss options prior to April 17, 2025.

Marion Carson School Fun Run/Walk Reminder:
The Marion Carson 5km Fun Run/Walk is coming up on April 26, 2025. We are excited that so many families have already signed up. It is going to be a great event. Event Details:
9:30am: Participants pick-up race bibs at the registration/sign up table (courtyard)
10:00am: The pre-program/warm-up starts.
10:30am: The fun run/walk begins.
1:30pm: Post-race activities/food trucks close
*Registration is open until April 25th! The event will happen rain or shine. Please no dogs at the Run.

Interested in filling one of the rewarding roles on School Council?
- Our annual AGM will be held at our School Council and Parent Association meeting on May 27, 2025 at 6:30pm in the library learning commons.
- We are looking for more parents to join our team! For the upcoming school year, we currently need people to join the team in the roles of: Secretary, Treasurer, Special Events team, Volunteer Coordinator, Fun Lunch Coordinator, and of course more people who want to help with school events and fundraising! Email mcschoolcouncil@gmail.com to express your interest, or to find out more about these roles.
Marion's Meadow Spring Cleanup: April 17th from 3:30-4:30pm
Did you know that Marion's Meadow is 100% cared for by the parents at Marion Carson School? We need your help to keep it beautiful and thriving for our kids. Come held us spruce it up for the season by bringing a push broom, pruners, and/or rakes. Bring your kiddos too! They love helping and learning about nature.

May 22: Spirit Day - Cultural Celebration Day (wear clothing that represents your family’s culture, bring your favourite food from your culture for your lunch, or share a tradition with your class (please talk to your teacher about our specific guidelines if planning on sending any food for sharing as any food items not within the guidelines, will be returned home)
