1. School Student-Led Conferences – March 19, 2026
Our Student-Led Conferences will be occurring Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 4:30pm – 7:30pm. These conferences are an opportunity where all students attend with their parents. Each child will lead their parent/guardian through some activities and artifacts that demonstrate their in-class learning, progress, and experience.
We are asking parents to sign-up for a 30-minute time slot using the school conference manager under the Book and Manage Meetings Times icon found within their MyCBE account. The Conference Manager System will open Saturday, March 14 at 10am for bookings and will close Thursday, March 19 at 3pm.
During your booked time, parents are invited to drop-in to their child’s classroom where students will have planned artifacts / activities to share with their parents. These activities will take approximately 15 minutes - such that the conferences are not rushed and that you have time to move from one class to the next should families have more than one child / conference to attend. Mandarin Bilingual Program students with two teachers will have sharing opportunities in both classrooms. If you have more than one child, you are welcome to sign-up for both children in the same timeslot or choose different slots for each homeroom class. We kindly ask that when you are completed the activities within the class you move on to the next activity or to other parts of your evening/day to ensure that all families have space to celebrate in their child’s learning. Please consider visiting the music room and gymnasium with your child during this evening for additional sharing in these spaces with Ms. Seto and Ms. Collins.
Please note that student-led conferences are is a time for you and your child to share and celebrate in their learning. As there will be multiple families in the room at the same time, we ask for parents to refrain from asking personal questions about their child and instead communicate and ask specific questions with teachers through another format, such as email. As always, we encourage families to have ongoing communication with their child’s teacher throughout the school year. We look forward to students sharing their joy and excitement for learning during this event.
*Parents of Grade 6 Students: We ask that you please sign-up for a student-led conference between 4:30pm-5:30pm, or 6:30pm-7:30pm, with plans on attending the mandatory Camp Chief Hector Parent Meeting occurring from 5:45pm-6:30pm.
2. School Fees – Please Review Your MyCBE Account for Fees Due
While booking your Student-Led Conferences, we ask parents to also take a moment to go into the School Fee section of their MyCBE Account and pay any unpaid fees at this time. Over time, various fees get added for the year, and/or as they occur. Some examples include lunchroom fees, field trip fees, residency fees and more. Please check this section regularly to ensure that your payments are up to date. We thank you for your prompt payment.
3. School Class Photos - Redo
Get your smiles ready! School administration, in consultation with Lifetouch has made the decision to redo the whole class group homeroom photos that typically come to each student. We have arranged for Lifetouch to come on March 19. Please note that all K-6 classrooms will have their whole class group photo retaken on this day, lead by Lifetouch management, except for Monday/Wednesday Mandarin Bilingual Kindergarten whose photos will arrive in short order.
