1. Marion Carson 5km Fun Run/Walk
We would like to thank our School Council for organizing the run/walk coming up this Saturday. We would also like to thank all the volunteers who have worked hard to make it happen, and those who will be supporting the run on the day of. Fingers crossed for beautiful weather on what I’m sure will be an inspiring day for all, rain or shine.
2. FEO Grade 9 Band Performance
We would like to thank Ms. Seto for her collaboration with the grade 9 students and band teacher from FE Osborne School who were able to come to Marion Carson earlier this week to play for our students. It was a great opportunity for all of our students to gain some exposure to middle school band instruments and some possibilities in their future learning within CBE.
3. Music Monday – May 4, 2026
Ms. Seto has shared a sign-up with students to be at various stations throughout the school where they will share their joy of music with others. We are looking forward to a wonderful day celebrating music. Please contact Ms. Seto with any questions related to student sign-up or instruments.
4. Hats on for Mental Health – May 6, 2026
On Wednesday, May 6, students are encouraged to wear a hat to school to help raise awareness of the importance of mental health in schools, and remove the stigma associated with mental illness. Visit https://teachers.ab.ca/advocacy/campaigns/can-we-talk for additional information and resources.
5. Class Requests for 2026-27 School Year
Final reminder that should you have a specific request, teacher request, or additional information to support class placement specific to your child’s education, we invite you to email our school at MarionCarson@cbe.ab.ca.
*Please note that requests will only be considered if of an educational nature and which include a detailed reasoning to support the request. Although all requests are considered, they are not guaranteed as we must balance the various organizational needs of the school and classroom complexities based on space and resources. The deadline to submit requests and additional information for consideration is Thursday, May 7, 2026.
