A reminder that there is no school for students on Friday, May 16, 2025 as it is a non-instructional day and on Monday, May 19, 2025 due to Victoria Day. Classes resume Tuesday, May 20, 2025.

- Students are encouraged to wear clothing that represents your family’s culture, bring your favourite food from your culture for your lunch, or share a tradition with your class
*Please talk to your teacher about our specific guidelines if planning on sending any food for sharing as any food items not within the guidelines, will be returned home.

Kindergarten Learning Celebration
Kindergarten students at Marion Carson School will be hosting a Learning Celebration on Friday, May 23, 2025 starting at 10:10am. The celebration will share some of the students’ current learning focusing on the Body domain - To Do. We would like to invite parents of performing students from our Kindergarten classes to attend if able. Please note that due to fire safety code we have to limit our parent viewing to the first 150 parents. Doors will open at 10:05am. If waiting outside, we ask that you please line up along the Main West Door sidewalk leading out towards Varsity Drive.

Track & Field Meet - Calgary Track & Field Elementary School Championship Track Meet.
On May 31st from 10am to 4pm and new this year, there is a Grade 3, 4, 5, and 6 track meet open to anyone interested. Please note that this is an event external to CBE, but a great way to get your child involved in an activity occurring right next to our Varsity Community, taking place at Foothills Athletic Park. Sign up under our Marion Carson School name!

Spring Fling Dance – Update/Cancellation
Due to low interest and ticket sales, School Council has unfortunately had to make the decision to cancel the Spring Fling Dance on May 22, 2025. We know it is a busy time of year for families and look forward to organizing future events in the 2025-2026 school year. Should you have already purchased tickets to the dance, School Council will be refunding your purchase directly from Zeffy (watch for the Zeffy email). If you do not receive your refund by the end of May, please contact School Council at mcschoolcouncil@gmail.com.
Bottle Drive – May 23, 2025
Our Spring bottle drive is on Friday, May 23 from 8:30am – 9:30am during drop off time. Please bring your recyclables that morning. Drop off your bags of cans and bottles during school student drop off! We will have helpers taking the bags from you along Varsity Drive near the School Bus Zone/Hug & Go Zone. Please avoid driving through the parking lot, and do not block the bus zone from 9:00 – 9:05am.
We need two volunteers for this event. If you can help for the hour we would appreciate your support. Marion Carson Parent Association: Bottle Drive helpers
