A reminder that June 27, 2024 is this year’s last day of school and is an early dismissal day (school ends at 1:20pm). The last day of school in June 2025 is also an early dismissal (ending at 1:15pm).
Drop off / Pick-Up Reminders
As of late, we have noticed and have also had a quite a few parent concerns around the use of the staff parking lot and school bus zone by families for drop-off, as well as people bringing their pets onto school grounds or at the main sidewalk exits.
Students Drop-Off / Pick-Up: We would like to remind families that the Hug and Go section along Varsity Drive is the safest space to drop off and pick-up your children. Please ensure that when doing so, you are pulled up right to the curb so as to not block traffic, and are avoiding stopping in the school bus zone. The staff parking lot is not a safe space for parents to drop off their children or for children to walk through. We kindly ask that you do not enter this area with your car, or when walking your children to school. If your children walk to school, please remind them to use the sidewalk and crosswalks to help ensure their safety. We appreciate your cooperation in choosing safety over convenience.
Pets of School Grounds: We would also like to remind families with pets that although staff and students love seeing their animals, pets must stay off school grounds at all times. If you take your pet on your walk to/from school, then we ask that you please setup a meeting space with your child that is off of the school property, and past the sidewalk along Varsity Drive. This will help keep both students, adults and pets safe. We appreciate your cooperation.
A Message on Behalf of School Council and Parent Association
School Council and Parent Association Meeting
Thank you to those who were able to join us at our final School Council and Parent Association meeting of the school year. Meeting minutes will be posted here once available. After the AGM last night Council welcomed a new Fundraising Coordinator, Jenn A. and a new Parent Education Coordinator, Rachel C. Welcome to the team! Council is still looking for the following positions to be filled:
- Secretary
- Vice Chair
- Special Events Coordinator
- Volunteer Coordinator
Without some of these roles filled, council won't be able to be as active in the school community next year as they won’t have the capacity to run events like dances, movie nights, student treats, etc. Please email mschoolcouncil@gmail.com for more information or to express an interest in one of these roles.
