We would like to welcome all students and families back after Fall Break. We hope you enjoyed the time with your family and friends. The upcoming forecast shows some warm weather, but also some snow. Reminder for children to dress for each day’s weather so that they can enjoy their outdoor learning and play.

School Conferences

Our next School Conferences are coming up on November 28 (evening) and 29 (day). The School Conferences Booking System will open on Saturday, November 23 at 10am through your MyCBE account.


Grade 5 and 6 Class Photos

With the re-organization of our Grade 5 and 6 classrooms, some students were asking if they would get a class photo with their new classmates. We have worked Lifetouch Photography who has offered to come to the school to take a class photo for each of the 4 classes (Mr. Wiedener, Ms. Cole, Mr. Ledene and Ms. Baldwin) on Thursday, Nov. 21 at the very start of the school day. Please mark your calendar.

 

Spirit Day: Wear You Favourite Colour

We’re having a sprit day! On Friday, November 22, students are encouraged to wear their favourite colour. Thank you to the grade 6 students for organizing this event.

 

A Message from School Council


Fun Lunch Important Update:

  • We are switching back to Healthy Hunger as of January! We will no longer be using Lunchbox, due to customer service issues. The lunches on November 21 and December 5th through Lunchbox will still arrive at the school as scheduled. Pre-ordered meals past December 5th will be cancelled and credited to your account. Once you login to your account and see the credit, there are instructions on how to get a refund. Please be advised that this may take a couple weeks for processing.
  • Please go to: Healthy Hunger to sign up for this year. It's easy! Create an account and then add your child's information in, and start ordering! Our first lunch with Healthy Hunger will be Subway on January 17th, 2025. 

 

School Council Meeting:

  • Our next School Council and Parent Association Meeting is this Tuesday, November 19 at 6:30pm in the Library Learning Commons. You can view recent meeting minutes and agendas posted here on our school website.

Scholastic Book Fair

  • Our book fair is scheduled for Thursday November 28 & Friday November 29, 2024 and will run during school Parent-Student-Teacher conferences. Students will have the opportunity to preview the book fair during that week and create their wish lists. All book fair purchases raise money or are redeemed for books and other educational resources for our school Library Learning Commons. Thank you for your support and for sharing the joy of reading with your child.

Book Fair Shopping Hours:

  • Thursday, November 28 from 4:30pm – 8:15pm 
  • Friday, November 29 from 8:30am – 1:30pm

As part of our efforts to streamline the process, we are encouraging the use of credit/debit cards; however, cash will still be accepted. Please note, we do not have the ability to refund any purchases.


Book Donations:

  • If you would like to donate a book to your child’s classroom, please consider looking at the Teacher Wish List table while at the conferences with your child.
  • Teachers truly appreciate your support, and this is one way that you could choose to support your teacher, your child, and their classroom.
