Hello / Nǐ hǎo Marion Carson School Families,
In this message…
- Remembrance Day Assembly
- SoundKreations Dance Residency
- Lost & Found
It was wonderful to see students dressed up today in their costumes, or orange and black clothing. We connected as a whole school in the gym showing our dance moves and showing off our outfits, with classrooms also participating in various Hallowe’en-based activities.
A reminder to families that the Hug and Go section is for quickly giving children a hug and/or a kiss before sending them off to their entry door or for quickly picking up children at the end of the day. Please do not park in these spots, stay in the spot once you have dropped off your child, or leave your car unattended. Moving your car as quickly as possible will ensure that all families can drop off/pick-up their children using these spaces and will also help ensure a constant flow of traffic along Varsity Drive. We thank you for your cooperation.
Some items of note…

1. Remembrance Day Assembly
We will be hosting our Remembrance Day Assembly on November 7th starting at 10:45am. Parents of performing student leaders in grade 5/6 are welcome to attend. Please note that due to the shortened timeline for preparation for this assembly, student grade level performance will be minimized, with a connected focus on the meaning of the day and showing respect for those who fought and continue to fight for our freedom. Students in uniformed servant-based groups outside of the school community are welcome and encouraged to wear their respective uniforms on this day (e.g. Scouts, Girl Guides, Cadets…)
2. SoundKreations Dance Residency
We postponed our SoundKreations Dance Residency in October and are excited to announce that we were able to rebook them for November. They will be focusing on Hip Hop Styles. This is a school-wide residency for students in kindergarten through grade 6. From November 13 - 27 students will be participating in the residency through their regular Physical Education classes led by the SoundKreations Dance experts. The fee for this residency is $12/student and will be posted to your MyCBE Account soon. You will receive a message from the school when the fee is posted. For more information on SoundKreations, please visit their website here.
