Hello / Nǐ hǎo Marion Carson School Families, 

It was wonderful to see students who chose to participate in today’s Halloween festivities dressed in their costumes or orange and black clothing. Participation was completely optional, and we enjoyed coming together as a whole school in the gym to share our dance moves and show off our outfits!

  1. Remembrance Day Assembly 

We will be hosting our Remembrance Day Assembly on November 7th starting at 10:30am. Parents of performing student leaders in grade 5/6 are welcome to attend. Students in uniformed servant-based groups outside of the school community are welcome and encouraged to wear their respective uniforms on this day (e.g. Scouts, Girl Guides, Cadets) 

2. Annual Fieldtrips/Activities Fees 

The annual fieldtrips/activities fees letter was sent to families on Wednesday, October 28th. As a reminder, for many volunteer opportunities, volunteers must have a valid police clearance AND fill out Marion Carson’s volunteer registration form (this is an annual form that must be completed for each school year that can be found on your parent account in PowerSchool). 

3. Message from MCSC/MCPA 

  • Purdy’s Chocolates: This holiday season, order your delicious Purdy's chocolate online and choose to support the Marion Carson Fall/Winter 2026 fundraising campaign! Share the link with family, friends, and co-workers. Order deadline is November 6th at 11:59pm. Order pickup is during conferences (Nov 26th and 27th) at the school.   • Holiday Plants: Support Marion’s Meadow and our new forest by ordering festive plants by November 10 at Growing Smiles. Pickup is November 26–27 during conferences. Unclaimed orders will be gifted to school staff. 
  • Fall Book Fair: Fall Book Fair is coming Nov. 26-27. While you’re at parent-teacher conferences, drop by the Book Fair! It’s a great chance to find new books and encourage a love of reading.
