Start of Year Forms

It is that time of year to complete/update various online forms through SchoolEngage on your MyCBE account. Throughout this week, all families should have received an email from the Calgary Board of Education portions of which you will see again below in addition to our school specific forms that support a collaborative, safe and welcoming environment for our students, staff and parents. These forms are linked/attached below. Some of these forms are required, some are optional depending on student need, and some are just for your information. We ask for all forms to be completed no later than Monday, September 15th, 2025. We ask that the forms not directly completed online through SchoolEngage be printed, completed and returned to your child’s homeroom teacher by the same date. *Please note that MyCBE / PowerSchool is undergoing an update this weekend starting today (Sept. 5) at 7pm and may not be available until Sunday evening.

Forms Required to Complete

1.      CBE Required Online Forms

Each year, schools have a variety of forms that parents / legal guardians are required to complete or review and update, some of which are paper and others online. In CBE, the forms in an online format in SchoolEngage are:

·       Demographic Verification - 2025-26 – This required form is an Alberta Education requirement as proof of Registration for funding purposes and includes your child’s personal information as well as parent / legal guardian contact information.

·       Citizenship Information Update - 2025-26 – This form becomes available if you change your child’s citizenship information on the Demographic Verification form.

·       Annual Authorization - 2025-26 – Combines the following forms:

o   School District Use of Personal Information - explains how CBE uses personal information in providing education services.

o   Consent for CBE Use of Student Information – provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by school/district and third parties.

o   Consent for Use of Student Information by News Media and Outside Groups (Third Party) - provides an option to grant / not grant consent for additional use of student information by outside groups and third parties.

SchoolEngage is one of the applications found in your MyCBE account. This is the same account that you use to pay fees, view academic information, book school conferences, etc.

If you do not have a MyCBE account, on the MyCBE page click on “Create a MyCBE Account”. For online help refer, to MyCBE – Creating an Account (includes instructions and a video).

To complete these forms:

1 | sign in to your MyCBE account

2 | click on the SchoolEngage icon

3 | select the form

4 | complete or review and update the form

5 | click on Submit to send the form electronically to the school

6 | repeat steps 3-5 for each form

7 | complete for any other children in your family (if applicable)

These forms are mandatory every year for Alberta Education to confirm student funding. Thank you for completing them.

Volunteering

Volunteer Security Clearance Process

For the 2025-26 school year, the CBE has a solution to have the full cost of the online application covered by a voucher.

Step 1: Register as a volunteer at with school where you plan on volunteering through MyCBE by clicking on the Online Forms and School Registration tab and completing the Volunteer Registration 2025-26 form.

Step 2: School administrators will verify your identity and register you in the CBE volunteer database. You should then watch your email for a message from Calgary Police Solutions with a link to apply for your clearance and a voucher number enabling you to obtain a police information check from the Calgary Police Service (CPS).

Step 3: Complete all steps found within the email from Calgary Police.

Step 4: Once you receive your clearance letter from the Calgary Police, be sure to share the letter with the school office by uploading it to your parent account, or by emailing the school.
