Earth Day Activities – April 22, 2024
As Earth Day is coming up on Monday, April 22nd and Ms. Keller’s Grade 1/2 class thought it would be a great time to demonstrate their leadership by encouraging other classes to be like them, and participate in some more eco-friendly actions to help Marion Carson School get one step closer to achieving Eco-School status!
The students are planning a "Take Me Outside Day" for April 22nd, and challenging all classes to join, in one way or another! To participate, classes are encouraged to spend an extra part of their day outside, when they normally wouldn't be outside. Maybe a math lesson outside, a sit spot sketch, or something as simple as buddy reading in the meadow. We encourage you to ask your children what they did as a class in recognition of Earth day and to meet the challenge.
Additionally, they are challenging all families to send their child(ren) with a "Waste Free Lunch" on this day. Can you make your lunches as waste-free as possible?

Master Gardener Class – April 24, 2024
Let's get together to learn about planting/gardening from a Master Gardener & Marion Carson School mom, Deb S! You will learn the basics of caring for our chinook short season world. This will involve 20 minutes outside and 40 minutes inside. You do NOT need to bring any tools or equipment. If interested, you can also join us after the class for our School Council meeting at 7:00pm!

School Council and Parent Association Meeting – April 24th, 2024
Please join us at our next School Council meeting on April 24, 2024 at 7pm in person in the Library Learning Commons. Please click here for the upcoming agenda. Council is looking to fill two vacancies on the executive for next year including Vice-Chair and Secretary. Alien Inline Family Skate Night (and drop off your bottles)!
On April 25 is our Family Skate Inline Skating Night hosted by Alien Inline and our Parent Association, occurring right here at Marion Carson School from 5:30 – 8:30pm in the school gymnasium. You must sign up for tickets to enter during a designated time slot. Parents must be supervising their children at all times. Please use the links below to sign up for a skating time slot and to volunteer.

*While attending the event, you are also welcome to drop off your bottles for the bottle drive at the main entry doors.
Bottle Drive – April 27 from 10am to 2pm (Grade 4 and 6 Fundraiser)
Please save your bottles for the Bottle Drive occurring in our Marion Carson School Parking lot. Drop off your bottles for recycling when you come to the Family Skate Night on the evening of Thursday, April 25 or come drop them off in the staff parking lot on Saturday, April 27 between 10:00am - 2:00pm. This event is hosted by the Marion Carson School Parent Association.
Thank you to those that have already signed up to volunteer. We need a few more spots filled. If you are a grade 4MB or 6CE parent, please help by signing up for a volunteer time slot on April 27 to support your children’s farewell celebrations and the natural play area.
