Volunteer Tea – May 2, 2024
We would like to show our appreciation to all volunteers at our Volunteer Tea on Thursday, May 2 from 9:30-11:00am, here at the school. If you were a volunteer this year and you haven’t already RSVP’d, please use the link https://forms.office.com/r/rqBW2ZWZtw to confirm your attendance. Please let us know if you are able to attend by Monday, April 29th, 2024. Thank you to all volunteers for your support throughout this year.
Grade 1/2 Learning Celebration – May 3, 2024
The Grade 1 and 2 students in the Community English and Mandarin Bilingual programs will be hosting all students in their Learning Celebration / Jump Rope for Heart day kick-off on May 3 from 9:30am – 10:15am. We would like to invite parents of performing students from Grade 1 and 2 classes to attend if able. Please note that due to fire safety code we have to limit our parent viewing to the first 150 parents. Doors will open at 9:25am. If waiting outside, we ask that you please line up along the Main West Door sidewalk leading out towards Varsity Drive.
Jump Rope for Heart – May 3, 2024
As a school community we are excited to have begun our skipping unit in gym to get motivated and ready for our Jump Rope for Heart School Event on Friday May 3. Physical Education classes are focusing on heart health as a basis for skipping in physical education and for our event. We are hoping that students will share their skills and some benefits of doing cardio (heart healthy) activities with their family as a result of their participation in class and on our event day. There is a link for families to donate to Jump Rope for Heart, if the Heart and Stroke Foundation and their work is something close to their hearts. Click here to donate.
School Fees
We ask at this time that all parents take a moment to review their online MyCBE account for any outstanding fees. At Marion Carson School we host a variety of wonderful events both in-school and off-site to enhance the students learning experience, some of which are covered by the school and/or School Council, and others which have costs associated which get posted to your MyCBE parent account throughout the year. Please take the time this week to review the Fees, Waivers & Service Registration tab in your child(ren)’s account to review and pay any posted fees. We appreciate your prompt payment.
Marion Carson Run Club – Starts May 3, 2024
What? During soft entry on Friday mornings all students are invited to come and join the running club with Ms. Collins and Mr. Turner. We will be working through a running course each morning on our school field that will help us all get our days off to a great active start.
Who? All interested K-6 students and staff (parents are welcome to come and join in with their children)
When? Friday mornings from 8:55am to 9:10am starting May 3, 2024 up until and including June 7, 2024.
Where? Meet at school by the soccer fields as you arrive to school.
How? Students should come directly to the soccer fields when arriving at school, drop their back pack in a designated spot along the wall by the basketball nets, and join in on the day’s running challenge. Kindergarten parents please come with your children to the back fields to ensure a safe drop off and connection with the teachers.

School Council and Parent Association Meeting – April 24th, 2024
Thank you to all people who joined us at our School Council meeting this past Wednesday. Please click here for upcoming agendas and meetings minutes. Our School Council and Parent Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) is on May 22, 2024 at 7pm. Council is looking to fill two vacancies on the executive for next year including Vice-Chair and Secretary, as well as some other lead roles for committees. Bottle Drive – April 27 from 10am to 2pm (Grade 4 and 6 Fundraiser)
Please save your bottles for the Bottle Drive occurring in our Marion Carson School Parking lot. Drop off your bottles in the staff parking lot on Saturday, April 27 between 10:00am - 2:00pm. This event is hosted by the Marion Carson School Parent Association.
Thank you to those that have signed up to volunteer for the bottle drive and to those who volunteered to make our skate night possible this week. We appreciate your time and support.
