A few items of note…

A reminder that there is no school for students January 31, 2025 as it is a non-instructional day. School resumes Monday, February 3, 2025.

This Upcoming Week is our Lunar New Year Residency and After School Celebration – Reminders and Call for Volunteers

We are very excited for our whole school Lunar New Year Multi-Cultural Residency starting this Monday with the final performances on Friday. Be sure to ask your children about each day’s learning journey in collaboration with the Trickster Artists.

-        Lunar New Year Residency is from Feb. 3 to 7, 2025.

-        Lunar New Year Performance is Feb 7, 2025 (see schedule here)

February 7^th 4pm Performing Classrooms - Doors will open at 3:30pm. Students should arrive no later than 3:45pm

-        Kindergarten: Ms. Tsai Group B (Tu/Th), Grade 1: Ms. Blair, Grade 1/2: Ms. Hoglund, Grade 1/2: Ms. Holm, Grade 2: Ms. Wang, Grade 3: Ms. Buller, Grade 3: Mr. Wang, Grade 4: Ms. Eastly, Grade 4: Ms. Wilcock, Grade 5: Mr. Ledene, Grade 6: Mr. Wiedener

-        *Families are also welcome to choose to come to the dress rehearsal for this group instead of the evening performance starting at 10:00am (doors open at 9:50am)

Volunteers Needed! We are still in need of many Lunar New Year Residency volunteers to help with various roles throughout this week. Please sign up at Marion Carson Lunar New Year Residency Volunteer Sign Up

Please plan on having your child being in attendance for their performance to celebrate this learning. We expect a full building on this evening during both performances, therefore to ensure that we’re not overcrowded, stay within our building capacity limits, and ensure that all families are provided an opportunity to attend their event, we ask that families limit their attendance to a maximum of two parents/guardians per family and their sibling(s).

West Entry Doors will be opened 30 minutes before each after school performance (10 minutes before for dress rehearsals). If waiting outside, please line up down the sidewalk towards Varsity Drive. Please ensure that if you are driving to this event, you park in designated parking spaces and avoid the staff parking lot or impacting any of our surrounding community homes. Parents who have siblings performing at different times will be asked to leave the gym in between performances with all of their belongings as they pick up their children following the first performance, but are welcome to stay inside the building outside of the gym, awaiting the second performance.

*Please note that families will be asked to exit from the East Doors out to the courtyard/playground after the first performance.

Matador’s Pizza fundraiser is tonight, January 30, 2025. $5 from every pizza will come back to the school! This is for dine in and take out. Tell your neighbors, friends, and colleagues to have some Matador’s pizza on January 30^th, 2025.
