Safety Over Convenience

A friendly reminder to follow all rules of the road when dropping off or picking up your children. When the weather was warmer, we noticed families doing a great job of using our crosswalks or dropping off children within the Hug and Go section. With the fresh snow, we have noticed an increase in traffic along Varsity Drive and some families beginning to jaywalk or drop their children off in the middle of the road. Please continue to ensure a safe commute to and from school for all families by choosing safety over convenience even with the colder weather by using designated parking/drop off locations and crossing at crosswalks. We appreciate your support in helping keep our families safe.

Parent-Student-Teacher School Conferences

Our Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences Booking System opens for bookings this Saturday Nov. 18 at 10am and closes Nov. 23 at 11:59am.

Appointment are occurring in-person at Marion Carson School:

· Thursday, November 23 from 4:30pm – 8:30pm

· Friday, November 24 from 8:30am – 1:30pm

How to book?

· Conference sign-up occurs online through your child’s MyCBE account.

Winter Musical

We are currently planning our December 14 Winter Musical. We will be having two events planned for that evening depending on your child’s homeroom class. Students and families will be asked to come to either the 5:30pm or the 7:30pm performance. More information will be shared by your classroom teacher and our Music Teacher Ms. Seto in the near future.

Parent Education Session - Anxiety: Tips for Day-to-Day Success

November 30, from 7:00pm - 8:30pm at Marion Carson School, in the Library Learning Commons (in person).

The Parent Council invites you to join the first parent education session of the 2023-24 school year with our guest speaker, Dr. Keoma Thorne. She is a local psychologist with expertise in the area of anxiety in school-age children and youth. If you are not able to get childcare, we will have a movie playing in the gym where your children can stay while you join the presentation. Please watch for an upcoming email with a sign-up to attend this event. It is free of charge to families as the cost is generously being covered by the parent council using the funds you have helped raise.
