A reminder that there is no school on September 27 (school conferences) and September 30 (National Day for Truth and Reconciliation)
This week, students celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival through various learning activities about Chinese culture and history. IN one of those activities, students came together to create their own paper mooncakes focussing on family reunion and belonging. These mooncakes have come together to create connected art displays in student classrooms, with some pieces being used to create a whole-school collaborative art piece. We invite you to watch for these artistic representations when in the school next week for student conferences.
We also had a great Terry Fox event today. Thank you to all families who were able to donate to the Terry Fox Run fundraiser and/or who were able to join us for our walk earlier today. We had to switch it to indoor due to the weather, but the message and spirit of the event was strong. Classrooms took the time to discuss various character traits demonstrated by Terry Fox and how we can continue his message of “Never give up”.
*A reminder that all forms found in the September 6 weekly message were due this past Monday, September 16, 2024. Thank you to all families for completing these forms to support student safety and school organization.
School Meet the Teacher Conferences – Sept 26 and 27, 2024
School conferences are scheduled for September 26 from 4:30pm - 7:30pm and September 27 from 8:30am – 12pm noon. The booking window to secure your 10-minute conference with your child’s homeroom teacher opens this Saturday, September 21 at 10am, and closes Thursday, Sept 26 at 12pm noon. Bookings are completed through your MyCBE account by clicking on the Book and Manage Meeting Times tab.
These conferences are specifically an opportunity for parents to share any important information with their child’s homeroom teacher to support their learning at school, a chance to clarify classroom routines, while also allowing the teacher to share initial steps in each child’s first few weeks of learning. All parents and their children should plan on attending these conferences.

Thank you to all parents who attended our first School Council / Parent Association meeting of the year this past Wednesday. Meeting minutes and upcoming agendas are posted to our school website here once finalized. We hope you consider joining us at next month’s meeting on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. *Please note that meetings for the remainder of this year are specific Tuesday nights starting at 6:30pm (see website for the schedule)
