Hello / Nǐ hǎo Marion Carson School Families,
What a special Friday we had at Marion Carson! It was wonderful to see everyone out this morning for our Terry Fox Run. It was especially impressive to see our younger students representing Marion Carson with their smiles, effort, and positive attitudes as they ran alongside our neighbouring students and teachers from F.E. Osborne. Our students were amazing ambassadors for our school and our community. Their enthusiasm and encouragement of one another truly captured the spirit of Terry Fox and reminded us of the importance of coming together for a purpose.
Later in the day, we gathered again for the official opening of our new playground. This special celebration, organized by our Parent Association, was a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate this incredible addition to our school. A project like this takes a tremendous amount of time, energy, fundraising, planning, and teamwork, and we are so grateful to everyone who helped make it possible. Thank you to our Parent Association, families, staff, donors, community partners, and everyone who contributed their time, ideas, and support along the way. We are so excited to see this new space filled with laughter, play, and connection for many years to come!

- School Conferences (K) / Meet the Teacher (1-6)
As seen in last week’s message, the booking window to secure your Meet the Teacher (grades 1-6) or Parent-Student-Teacher conference (Kindergarten students only) with your child’s homeroom teacher will open Saturday, September 19, at 10am, and close Thursday, September 24 at 1pm. Bookings are completed through your MyCBE account by clicking on the Book and Manage Meeting Times tab. Please note:
- Book a slot with your homeroom teacher, including Mandarin Bilingual students- do not book with both teachers
- We encourage you to also visit as a family the Music class with Ms. Seto (room 102) and Physical Education with Mr. Ledene (gymnasium)
- Grade 1-6 students book a shared 30 minute timeslot for the evening on Sept 24 from 4:30-7:30pm
- For Kindergarten students, September 24 (evening) and September 25 (day) will be Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences where families will have a dedicated time to meet with the teacher individually to set up their elementary school journey (see booking information below).
- Ms. Saretsky will be hosting her Meet the Teacher time on Wednesday, September 23rd from 4-5pm and Friday, September 25th from 9-11am
2. Forms Due
Thank you to all families for completing the demographic form, online consent forms to release information, and the commitment page in from Family Handbook and Digital Citizenship Form. Please do so as soon as possible as they are due today! These forms help to support student safety and school organization.
A reminder that all forms (online and printed/signed) can be found in the September 4 weekly message

- Have you printed and returned the commitment page in the family handbook and the Admirable Use Policy/Digital Citizenship form?
